The BY-P120 Professional Windshield for Shotgun Microphones from Boya is a slip-on, synthetic fur cover and open-cell foam windshield solution for small diaphragm condenser microphones. It can be used to fit microphones with slots no further then 120mm from the front of the mic and for mics that have a diameter of 19 to 23mm, and to effectively reduce wind noise in outdoor news broadcast, sports broadcast, on-camera and film production applications. The BY-P120 offers dual-layer protection against wind noise. The inside sound hole features an open, cell-foam construction with a rubber bottom to prevent air from getting to the microphone. It is then covered with a synthetic fur to further reduce wind-noise attenuation. In addition, for any windshield to work effectively it must cover all the side ports on the microphone.
